Day and Night Prayer
There are numerous expressions of day and night prayer in scripture. We see “houses of prayer” (Isa. 56:7) as the context for day and night prayer and worship as well as the means by which God’s name will be made “great among the nations” (Mal. 1:11). It is our desire to align ourselves with heaven viewing the Lord as worthy of incessant praise, just as the creatures and the elders do day and night around His throne (Rev. 4:8). Finally, we find that God is just and true; He answers the prayers of those who cry out to Him day and night (Luke 18).
Prayer Targets: There are more but here are some core focus’
- Open Heavens – We pray that God’s Presence would come down and dwell in our midst (John 1:50-51).
- The Salem Metro Area – Residing in the Salem area, we pray for the transformation of our city to Jesus. We pray Scripture found in the New Testament for the Charlotte metro area. A few examples are: Eph. 1:17-19, Rom 15:5-7, and 2 Thess 3:1-5
- Salvation for the Nations of the Earth, Including Israel – We are mandated as a house of prayer to cry out for the nations of this world and to pray that all of Israel would come to know Jesus (Rom. 10:1).
- Culture of Life – Jesus spoke about choosing a culture of life (John 10:10). We pray that life would hold the same value in our eyes as it does in Christ’s.
